The Dandy is central to all that Tucker County is known for. While everything in Thomas is steps away - the town of Davis, Canaan Valley & Blackwater Falls State Parks, the Monongahela National Forest, Timberline Mountain, White Grass, and the Dolly Sods Wilderness are just down the road.

We have two historic flats.

The Dandy has two private flats/apartments available for short-term stay - The Nonchalant and The Quaintrelle. Each has its own fully-equipped kitchenette, bathroom, living area, dining nook, and queen bed.

Testimonials

  • “This flat was my partner's favorite spot we've ever stayed (and we've been everywhere!). The attention to detail is astounding and the vibes are immaculate. 11/10 recommend staying here.”

  • “Hands down, this was the best rental we’ve ever stayed in. First of all, the space is gorgeous. The pictures are beautiful, but pictures can't do it justice. This is Architectural Digest material at West Virginia prices. You are transported back in time to the concept of a boomtown rooming house - but one that is upscale, remarkably and creatively decorated, and powered with solar energy. Also, the attention to detail and comfort was incredible. Every time we thought it might be nice to have something in the kitchen or bathroom - there it was! We also loved being able to have our dog with us for a very reasonable fee and walking him through town and on the rail trail down the street each morning. The whole town of Thomas, and this lovely flat, gave us a restorative and creativity-inspiring getaway. Thank you so much to Justin & Trevor - we can't wait to return!”

  • “This place is AMAZING - Justin & Trevor have perfected the experience, down to every little detail. The space is designed beautifully with gorgeous artwork from local artists. It feels like you're stepping back into history at Dandy Flats all while making the most of modern amenities and sustainable features. We can't stop raving about this place and will definitely be back to visit again soon.”

“This is more than a restoration project. We are motivated to create an immersive and inspiring place that is playful, a study of small-space design and reuse practices, yet aesthetically curious.”
